Special thanks to HAL’s Manager of Internal Communications Rachel Moodie for sharing this post with us from her recent Alaska cruise aboard Volendam.
I’m a huge fan of going to spas (who isn’t?!), and the GreenHouse Spa on board Volendam was superb. Sally and Fernan give excellent massages (highly recommend them!) and will soothe away any cares you may still have after embarkation. The best part: quality products that leave you feeling refreshed and silky not sticky or slimy. Brad and I decided to get a thermal suite pass for the week. Here’s our take away from it:
Rachel: “Having unlimited access to the mineral bath, sauna and heated chairs was well worth it. We could visit any time we wanted and stay for however long we wanted.”
Brad: “The thermal suite was like a second home on the ship. Nothing was more inviting than a 102-degree mineral bath to relax the muscles after hiking around a glacier all afternoon in Alaska.”
A little-known secret: The thermal suite’s heated relaxation chairs were also a great way to unwind while enjoying sweeping views from a top of the ship. I saw a humpback whale while in port in Ketchikan from one of those chairs. Hands-down the thing to do.
