Meet the Venice Webcast Crew

Putting together the live webcast of Nieuw Amsterdam’s dedication ceremony on the blog and Holland America Line’s website required a team that included personnel in Venice, Atlanta, Miami and Seattle. Here are some photos from Venice, provided by Miami-based videographer and producer Mo Moghari.

The crew was led by HAL's Jason Grant (not pictured), Venice production impresario Tomas Ewald (from fifth from left) and Miami video producer Mo Moghari

At the heart of the webcast were the encoder (left), which converted the signal from the video cameras into an Internet-ready format that was beamed up to a satellite and then aimed at an IP address from which Kit Digital broadcast the signal over the Internet. On the right is the portable mixing board that enabled producers to switch between cameras during the broadcast.
