As per a long standing tradition, the Indonesian Independence Day celebrations are surrounded with sporting activities. Many crew members and officers fully enjoy participating in those activities. The winners were honored with a prize and a nice certificate directly after the flag raising ceremony. A. C. van der Loo is Oosterdam’s master.
In Juneau, Alaska, several of the crew went on an unforgettable Mendenhall Glacier Float Trip. It’s available for guests as well, and it’s one of those experiences you never forget. While the Oosterdam visited the port of Sitka, medical officers Dr. Brad Lee and LMO Sandra Luebbe together with agent Holy Reeder, were able to partake in a tour of the Russian tall sailing ship named Pallada.
