Hans Becker, beverage manager on board ms Maasdam, sent in this post about Maasdam’s first call at Sept-Iles, Quebec, Canada. On May 19 the town of Sept-Iles, Quebec, received Maasdam for the first time. Statendam’s Crew Purser Jaime sent in this photo of Captain Harm-Jan Arnold and Hotel Manager Theo Haanen with Port Angeles officials at a May 7 plaque exchange commemorating the ship’s first call. After enjoying snacks and beverages, the visitors received a ship’s tour from Cruise Director Lizabeth before disembarking.
Volendam’s first call at Kagoshima, Japan, was April 30, 2009. A plaque ceremony was held with several ship officers and port officials.
