On August 16, 2012, the 67th Indonesian Independence Day celebrations kicked off with the flag hoisting ceremony on the bow of the ship while we were in Skagway, Alaska. Prinsendam was docked in Liverpool, England, for Indonesia’s Independence Day. The flag raising ceremony took place pier-side, with the Indonesian community on hand to commemorate the day, along with officers and staff. After the ceremony, the traditional tug of war and sack races were held as well.
