This week the Zuiderdam had a special guest on board. Beertje van Beers, who used to be a well-known model and TV presenter in Holland, was sailing on board from Acapulco, Mexico to Santa Marta, Columbia, to write a story for the Dutch newspaper “De Telegraaf.”
The ms Zuiderdam made her inaugural visit to the port of Corinto, Nicaragua, on Oct. 6, 2009. Local officials from the port, city and tourism board visited the ship, together with reporters and television crews, for a reception held in the Crow’s Nest. Yesterday we had a nice day in Glacier Bay. Good calving on Margerie and Johns Hopkins Glaciers, but we topped of the day with some of the best bear viewing this season. We spotted this mother grizzly and her two cubs at the entrance to Johns Hopkins inlet.
