On October 2, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted an overseas absentee voter (OAV) registration campaign aboard Zuiderdam while the ship was docked in the city. Thursday was a busy day in San Diego with both Westerdam and Zuiderdam departing on two fabulous cruises. Westerdam was heading west toward Hawaii and the South Pacific, while Zuidersam was sailing through the Panama Canal.
