Zaandam’s Senior Tailor Marks 30 Years with HAL

Senior Tailor, Marcelino David, has made it to the 30 year mark with HAL and by the looks of it, he’s eager to make 30 more. He is seen in this photo with Captain Andre van Schoonhoven. A very interesting bit of information-23 years ago on the ss Rotterdam, Marcelino tailored then Cadet Officer Andre van Schoonhoven’s first set of uniforms! Good job Marcelino! Pleasure to have you with us!

Taromi Joseph is Zaandam’s human resources manager.

I have enjoyed touring the area where uniformed are maintained and after enjoying all the cuisine aboard on a number of HAL ships, you must be very busy refitting all the sizes! No, that is a joke, I very much look forward to seeing your work on board and to meeting a captain who can fit into the same set of uniforms 30 years later!…See you in alaska next season on the 26th of May round trip!

Looking forward to our discovering the Zaandam our our South American adventure in December 2013. So far have cruised on the Volendam, Eurodam, Statendam and Niew Amsterdam. Have never had a bad experience on HAL.

Just getting ready to book on Zaandam for Hawaii Dec. 8, 2012 to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We have sailed exclusively with HAL and love the crews, ships, and relaxing lifestyle of the cruises. We hope to stowaway more frequently after retirement 🙂

We just completed our Hawaii cruise with you. This “Dam ship” is the best so far! The crew, starting with the Captain and all the staff are simply put The BEST!

Please know you have made for us a wonderful memory of our vacation in Hawaii. We are ready to go to the Panama Canal next with Holland!

Thanks again, Jetta and Larry Russell!
