On December 10 the Westerdam was visited by 30 participants of a U.S. Coast Guard “Cruise Ship National Center of Expertise.” This was part of the Advanced Foreign Passenger Vessel Examiner Course. Hello again from the Netherlands. The last few weeks we have been in Florida to catch some sun. We saw 4 HAL ships in Ft Lauderdale. Here you’ll find pictures of Noordam, Zuiderdam and Westerdam from Friday, December 3 and Eurodam from December 4.

As these two ships passed each other, I realized that I had taken a picture of what a four-funnel Holland America liner spanning 1800-feet might look like. They put Norwegian Epic to shame and are much better looking! – Iain McGeachy
