I am curious if there is anyone still alive and kicking who was on the harrowing return through a hurricane that put us three days late to New York from Southampton? The Veendam made it when the “Queens” had to turn back with broken windows, etc. As I recall there were over 60 injuries when we arrived in New York. The only ones not seasick were we twelve Americans who constantly played bridge and refused to let any of us become ill – we kept to the areas of fresh air and ate tomatoes and soda crackers.
