Statendam and Ryndam crew members were among the first in Holland America to receive certificates in a new lifeboat assistant training course. The Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft (CPSC) course includes practical lessons in lifeboat rowing, raft turning, lifeboat maneuvering and man-overboard rescues, not to mention theory lessons and exams.
