2010 Seahawks Cruise – Mexican Riviera
Day 1 – March 20
It is a beautiful sunny day today in San Diego as we head to the pier to board Holland America Line’s ms Oosterdam to begin our 5th Annual Seahawks cruise. Seahawks players Ben Obomanu and his sister, Yulonda, Josh Wilson and his wife, Jazmin, and Will Herring and his wife, Ashley, accompanied by 62 GREAT Seahawks fans and myself, will begin our seven-day Mexican Riviera cruise today. Our ports of call will be Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas.
We were given VIP treatment at the pier, thanks to our great friends from AAA Travel and Holland America Line and were able to get express check-in and boarding. This was very impressive to our players, because this is all of their first Seahawks cruise. I think they felt pretty spoiled and now they are going to think they will always get this same treatment when they go on their own cruises!
At 2:30 p.m. after the rest of the passengers boarded the ship, Captain Ven Der Loo was present as the Seahawks players and fans held the 12th Man Flag raising ceremony up on the Lido deck. This has been a tradition since we started doing these cruises and it is so cool to see our flag being raised high for all to see in front of all the other passengers on the ship.
We are just going to chill out now and have some fun the rest of the day and evening.
So until tomorrow … Later, gator!
