During Maasdam’s maiden call at Scarborough, we had the honor of hosting a plaque exchange with the mayor of Tobago. Here is a photo of Captain James Russell-Dunford and the mayor of Tobago during the exchange. Jaime de Castro-van der Loo is Maasdam’s human resources manager.

Maasdam arrived in Brazil just in time for the world famous Carnival in Rio de Janeiro! The vivacious and colorful festival is the largest in the world and its easy to see why. Here are some photos taken by Chief Electrician Don MacLeod. More to come!
During Maasdam’s three-day stay in Rio de Janeiro, 88 crewmembers had the opportunity to join a crew tour to Corcovado to see the amazing statue of Christ the Redeemer.
