Shore Excursion: Medieval Scotland and Trail of the Da Vinci Code

Welcome to beautiful Scotland. Start your journey from Rosyth towards Roslyn to visit the magnificent Roslyn Chapel (approx. 45 min. drive) as part of the Medieval Scotland & Trail of the Da Vinci Code excursion. Roslyn is a small town that is a home to the famous Roslyn Chapel from the movie “The Da Vinci Code,” and it is a magnificent site to visit which holds so much of a history dating back 500 years ago. Chapel itself is so beautiful just from the outside even though it has never been completed in full but once you enter inside you fell like you have stepped back in time.

An inside visit of the Chapel is done by a local guide for approx. 30 – 45 min. who will point out some amazing secrets and stories that surrounds the Chapel. Witness the amazing work of art done by a Masonic Masters and learn more about the Templar Knights and Sinclair Family that build the Chapel. You will also have some free time to walk throughout the Chapel on your own.

After finishing with the visit to Roslyn Chapel continue to a small town in the nearby area called Linlithgow (approx. 30 min. drive) where you will visit the Linlithgow Palace. Your guide will walk you through the Palace starting from the grounds and working your way up. The Palace itself is a beautiful site to visit but it is only a remaining of what was once a huge Palace where Scottish Kings used to live and reign. Inside Palace you will find quite a few steps which are narrow and small so be cautioned as you progress from one floor to the next one. A guide will tell you stories as you make your way through the Palace. After your tour of the Palace you will have some free time to stroll through the Linlithgow (approx. 30 min.) before you head back to Rosyth to join your ship. Inside of the Palace is not wheelchair accessible and is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties due to the narrow steps.

This excursion is a excellent choice for those guests who have been to Scotland before and have visited Edinburgh and looking for something different to experience and see. You will step back in time and enjoy what magical Scotland has to offer.
