Explorer’s Scrapbook: La Sagrada Familia

This picture was taken during a visit to The Sagrada Familia, which means in English “holy family.” The church was designed by Antonio Gaudi and has a very dominate place in the city of Barcelona. Despite the fact that the church is not yet finished, it attracts many tourists. The first stone was placed in 1882 and the interim completion date is set for 2026. The design of the church is in the so-called Catalonian Modernism and closely related to the well known Jugendstil.
