Today is International Artists Day, and Holland America Line has a lot to celebrate surrounding this day. From our incredible partnership with Rijksmuseum and our museum-focused EXC Tours to our new partnership with ArtLink and the thought-provoking art adorning our ships, art is at the heart of the Holland America Line experience
Guests can now enjoy an exclusive art experience with an ever-changing selection of photographs, sculptures, crafts, paintings – plus participate in a number of interactive art events and take home a genuine memento of their experience. The new program offered through our partnership with ArtLink is centered in an onboard gallery space exhibiting works by emerging artists curated from the destinations Holland America Line visits. So when a ship is in the Caribbean, the gallery will showcase works of Caribbean art made by a local artist. Likewise for ships in Alaska, South America, Asia, Europe … no matter where you might sail, the Artlink Gallery will allow you to take home a piece of art that is genuine, representative of the culture and authentic.
Holland America Line’s partnership with Rijksmuseum — the Museum of the Netherlands in Amsterdam — celebrates the company’s Dutch heritage. With Rijksmuseum at Sea on Westerdam, reproductions of some of the museum’s most famous masterpieces are showcased at a dedicated space located on Deck One of the Atrium. Guests also can view videos about the museum and its collections on the in-stateroom television.
In addition to Rijksmuseum at Sea, guests can have an exclusive visit to the museum in the Netherlands on Holland America Line’s pre-cruise Signature Experience in Amsterdam: “Amsterdam: An Evening at the Rijksmuseum.” Each Signature Experience is a Holland America Line exclusive and includes immersive cultural tours, entertainment, luxurious two-night hotel accommodations and complimentary transfers from the airport to the hotel and to the ship.
Imagine skipping the crowds entirely and relishing one of the world’s most renowned art museums with a small, exclusive group of art lovers! After a cocktail reception with light hors d’oeuvres, guests are taken on an after-hours tour of the Rijksmuseum Honor Gallery, followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner.
Home to enchanting landscapes, remarkable architecture and rich history, a Holland America Line cruise to Europe opens the door to incredible experiences and opportunities. One of the top attractions luring tourists year-round is the art scene. From impressive statues to mesmerizing paintings, Europe is an art lover’s mecca that will leave any visitor in awe.
