August is a holy month for Muslims around the world and for our brothers and sisters aboard ms Rotterdam because of Ramadan. On August 20, several Muslim crew members visited a mosque called The Saint Petersburg Mosque in Russia. The mosque was constructed from 1909 until 1913 by Nikolai Vasiliev. The building is 45m in length and 32m in width, the main cupola’s height is 32m and the minarets’ height are 48m. Inside, the building is very artistic and beautiful and the overall design is unique and interesting. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of the crew members who participated. They appreciated it. Special thanks to Yono Sudarto, controller on board ms Rotterdam, for the photos.
