From Eurodam at Amsterdam

Cees Kloppenburg recently toured Eurodam in Amsterdam and sent us this note and photos.

When Eurodam is visiting a Dutch port it looks like she brings with her the weather of the many tropical destinations she sails. Just like the christening day last year in Rotterdam there were tropical temperatures during the maiden Amsterdam call.

I was curious to see Eurodam again after one year in service for Holland America Lines. Because many of the crew are Dutch it was so nice to see crew members welcoming their families on board. Happy faces and kissing all around.

I was the lucky one to have, together with my wife, an invitation to walk around this fantastic vessel for a couple of hours.

It was great to see Captain Van Donselaar and hotel manager Kuppens. Last year they proudly showed Eurodam to Queen Beatrix Of The Netherlands, now a year on, with the same proudly smile on their faces to their families and friends.

The ship was as bright and shiny as she was on christening day, because Holland America Line has a reputation in keeping their vessels their whole carrier in brand new condition.

We saw our favorite dining place: The Pinnacle Grill. We never missed one on all of our cruises with Holland America Line. Be aware m/s Rotterdam, this month we will be dining in yours.

The impressive spa, I nearly missed my wife for a couple of hours.

The theater where at that time travel agents had a presentation.

Impressed with what we had seen, we ended up in The Lido with a fantastic Indonesian Sateh.

Eurodam, many many more happy sailings, hope to be back on board soon.

With regards,

Cees Kloppenburg
