When visiting Copenhagen, Denmark, be sure to stop by and visit one of the country’s most famous citizens, The Little Mermaid. The statue was a gift from brewer Carl Jacobsen to the city, made by Edvard Erichsen. The Little Mermaid was unveiled at Langelinje in 1913. Did you know that Erichsen’s wife stepped in and modeled for the body after dancer Ellen Price became uncomfortable posing without clothes?
