Exotic Shore Excursions: The Temple of Angkor Wat

From Angkor Wat to the Amazon … we have some amazing shore excursions. Did you know you can go on a Jungle Eco Safari in Koh Samui, Thailand; visit the Great Wall of China from Hong Kong, and go on a rare nighttime safari in the Amazon? Holland America Line features an exciting array of exotic shore excursions that are sure to make your cruise even more memorable. See how Shore Excursion Manager Judy Hu made one of her dreams come true on a tour in Cambodia.

Ever since I saw pictures of tree roots wrapped around temples, I wanted to visit Angkor Wat so badly. One of my wishes was to see this biggest temple complex in the world. Finally my wish was granted in 2013. I had the opportunity to escort this overland adventure twice. I love my job!

This photo was taken on the Angkor Wat Overland Adventure during Volendam’s 2013 Far East Discovery Voyage. Angkor Wat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is considered to be one of the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. — Shore Excursion Manager Judy Hu
