Frank, anyone can take the classes and try to earn a spot on that cruise’s DWTS competition. No video necessary. Good luck!

I love dancing so much I have to buy new socks every month. No matter what cruise ship I go on, the women often ask me if I work for the cruise line. I’m 70 years old and stay up till 2am each night dancing while my son, wife and grand-daughter go to sleep early. My last cruise was a polka cruise and I loved it. I want to sign up and win!!!!!!

My boyfriend and I love to dance. We do mostly country western, but some ballroom too. On the DWTS competition, are these couples that dance together or are you paired up with a professional dancer like on the television show? I would personally prefer to dance with my boyfriend, not sure he feels the same way about me as his partner, LOL, but think he does. I’m not sure I understand which cruises have the preliminary competitions? Thanks– Carolyn

Hi Carolyn, ALL HAL cruise have a dance competition. The guests who win their cruise are in the running to represent “their” ship on the Champions Cruise. There’s one winner from each ship on the Champions Cruise, so 15 competitors. You dance with the shipboard professionals. But, you both could enter and perhaps you’d be competing against each other! 🙂

I participated, and won, the “Dancing With The Stars at Sea” competition this spring. (Mar. 28 Westerdam). When will I find out if I am selected for the finals on Jan.10?
