HAL guest Kim Armenti submitted this note and photos from her family’s recent Alaska cruise on board Zaandam. Thanks, Kim!
We recently had the pleasure of sailing on your cruise ship, the ms Zaandam, to Alaska at the end of August. We were really hesitant about bringing our 17-month old son, Aidan Lou, with us, but we are so glad we did. He not only made our experience unforgettable, but he touched the heart of so many passengers as well.
For example, on the night of the captain’s dinner, Aidan was dressed to the nines in his captain’s suit and started to entertain the guests in the Stardust Lounge who were waiting to meet the captain and his crew. He made his way to the front of the stage and danced to the music of the Bee Gees. After getting a round of applause, this jovial toddler “hi-fived” cruise passengers in the audience. Little did we know the captain and his staff witnessed this event. That is how Aidan got to meet the captain and all of the front desk staff personally.
The pictures that were taken are a reminder of the wonderful time we had on our trip, and we would like to share them with you. Aidan established a special bond with Jojo Flores, the guest relations manager, and she brought him “behind the scenes” for a daily visit. We have already booked our next cruise with you to the Baltic Capitals in July of 2011 and are looking forward to it.
