Statendam’s Team Building in Juneau

Special thanks to Henry Bin Uyu hidayat, Statendam’s human resources clerk, for sharing this post with us.

Getting to Juneau, Alaska, is an experience in and of itself. We were there for the Saga team building initiative. The tour operator picked us up at the pier and drove us to the lake. Winding along the coast and through two separate mountain passes, the scenery amazed us. We were welcomed by an expert tour guide Greg Nath and friends. They gave us a quick orientation about the program. They provided us with rain coats, boots and other equipment and then we were ready for some kayaking! We relaxed during our journey so we all felt well-rested and ready for our adventure once we arrived at the lake.

We started at the lake and ended at the sea about three hours later. It was totally amazing. During the kayaking our eyes were peeled for some of Alaska’s magnificent wildlife! Alive with marine wildlife and surrounded by glaciers with capped peaks, Juneau is a paddler’s paradise. You may find yourself exchanging smiles with sea otter, listening to bald eagles or simply basking in the beauty of it all.
