Thanks to 2-star Mariner Robert New for sending in these photo.
Last July-August, I and wife Dolores were passengers aboard HAL MV Amsterdam to Alaska. It seemed the whole town of Kodiak was into FISHING, FISHING, FISHING. I took this photo near the ship. Along the road near the ship were several fish processing plants.
A tour of one of the canneries was not offered but I suggest that would be of interest to passengers. In passing those canneries I saw bins of huge halibut, freshly caught. And I took this photo that interested me. This photo was from next to the ship and one of the several canneries is in the right background. The second picture of two birds is from Juneau’s Mendenhall Glacier area.
