It was a great year for cruising. From Grand Voyages to Caribbean getaways and Alaska explorations, Holland America Line guests traveled all around the world. As we cruise into the new year Holland America Line asked fans on Facebook to share their resolutions. As the survey was presented to a group of cruisers it should come as no surprise that these are like-minded people who are planning to travel, live well and maintain optimism in 2015.
Without further adieu, Holland America Line fans resolve …
… TO TRAVEL MORE!
Whether looking to visit a particular destination or just planning to go, cruisers resolved to take more time to travel in 2015. Some had particular destinations in mind, like Una Cay, who wants to cruise as much as possible and dreams of visiting Easter Island; or Faye Martin Terry, who wants to return to Alaska. Giovanna Tarantino resolved to cruise to every Caribbean island that starts with “Saint” this year, and to someday make it to Antarctica!
Other responses were more general. Linda O’Reilly said she hopes to take time out and see all the beautiful places the world has to offer, while Robert Pohm said he’d like to visit new ports and sail longer trips, and Wendy McDonald simply said she wants to travel more.
Lynn Carlson Steele: “Take a cruise to somewhere we’ve never been.”
… TO CELEBRATE!
In 2015 Linda Anderson, Francine Novakoff and Vince Lombardo Start are planning to cruise with their spouse to celebrate their “golden” wedding anniversary, and Sheila Evans will celebrate 45 years of marriage with her husband in June at sea. Regina L. Rogers, meanwhile, is gearing up for her honeymoon celebration — a first-ever cruise with Holland America Line to Alaska in May.
Whatever the occasion, nothing beats a celebration at sea. Be sure to check out Mix Champagne Bar on your cruise for a bubbly toast!
… TO GET HEALTHY AND GET CRUISING!
Whether the hope was to shed a little extra weight to look their best while lounging at Half Moon Cay or recovering from a health setback, cruisers are looking to be stronger, fitter and healthier than ever in 2015. One guest, Judy Sloan, recently received a kidney transplant and looks forward to cruising without dialysis equipment in 2015.
Kathryn Bluhm put it simply, saying:
“Get healthier and travel more!”
… TO BE A MARINER.
Cruisers resolved not just to travel more, but to travel more with Holland America Line in 2015. Beverley Ammeter hopes to go on at least two different Holland America Line ships within the year, and Els Berkel is looking forward to cruising on “THE Eurodam” with her daughter in January. Ikaren Shaskan first sailed on ms Ryndam many years ago and hopes to sail the intimate ship once more before it leaves the fleet.
Other guests had their sights set on another star in the Mariner Society. Valerie Byrne and Mary Ann Pavich are just a few cruises away from becoming 5 Star Mariners, which means they will have each enjoyed nearly 500 days cruising with Holland America Line — That’s impressive!
Roberta Steinglass Slominsky: “To get on a ‘dam’ ship so I can receive my 4 Star Mariner!”
… TO BE POSITIVE!
Selma Ferris resolves to be open to new possibilities in 2015. She said:
“Enjoy the journey, whatever it may be.”
Ilja van der Leek promises to give at least one compliment straight from the heart every day, while Deb Dickson said she would be more positive in 2015 and help someone every day, and Cheryl CeeCee Dupuy agreed, saying, “To not only speak but to do more for others, to spend quality time with my loved ones and to see more of the world with my newly retired husband.”
Eileen Graham Tschopp: “To be grateful in all things … it’s a choice we can all make … May we all have a blessing-filled 2015.”
Here’s to a happy and healthy 2015! What are your resolutions? Let us know in the comments!
