Take a look and see the majestic scenery for yourself. Robert Matthew, one of Holland America Line’s engineers, took this cool time-lapse video of ms Amsterdam cruising through Glacier Bay. Remember, in actuality this exploration takes hours. If you look close enough, you’ll catch a glimpse of ms Volendam.
Alaska’s scenic beauty expands beyond Glacier Bay. Just take a look at guest Kristine Anderson’s photos from her two Alaska cruises, and we bet you’ll want to join Holland America Line in Alaska after seeing these beauties.
I must say that since taking my first cruise to Alaska with Holland America, I dream about going again. I’ve been lucky enough to go on two cruises to Alaska with my family in 2012 and 2013. My parents have been on this same cruise four times in the last five years and they absolutely love it. My dad’s dream cruise was the Panama Canal and they will be enjoying this vacation in April.
I wasn’t sure at first if I would enjoy going on a cruise, but you guys definitely changed my mind. I don’t know how many hours I spent on our verandah just looking out at the beautiful scenery (and the glaciers!!! Coolest thing I think I’ve seen in my life).
Can’t forget to mention the great service, amazing food, and always having something to do (casino, shows, trivia, etc.). I’ve made great memories with my family and just wanted to share my story. Now just waiting for the chance to go again 🙂 — guest Kristine Anderson
If you’re thinking about a Holland America Line Alaska cruise in 2014, you can choose from seven ships sailing seven- or 14-day itineraries that stretch from the Inside Passage up to Glacier Bay and beyond. We’re shifting ms Oosterdam to the Glacier Discovery itinerary — between Vancouver, British Columbia, and Seward, Alaska — alongside ms Statendam, which will increase verandah and guest capacity in the Gulf of Alaska.
With Oosterdam and Statendam sailing the Gulf of Alaska together, more guests will be able to enjoy a verandah, enabling them to take in the stunning scenery from the privacy of their stateroom. Glacier Discovery cruises between Vancouver and Seward (Anchorage) depart Sundays May 11 through September 14. The itinerary features calls at Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway/Haines, a day at sea in the Gulf of Alaska and scenic cruising through the Inside Passage. Each ship will sail 18 voyages and include a visit to Glacier Bay National Park.
