Walking on Rooftops!

Liz Vernon from Holland America Line sent in these fabulous photos from HAL’s rooftop shore excursion in Stockholm, Sweden.

Here are a couple of photos from the shore excursion I took in Stockholm recently on the Eurodam’s Baltic Treasures cruise. The walk on the rooftop tour takes you to the top of the Old Parliament Building in the Riddarholmen area in the city center. This point in the city provides incredible views of the surrounding historic area of Gamla Stan as well as Lake Malaren. For safety purposes, you’re strapped to a steel wire with a harness. Otherwise, you’re just walking on top of the roof!

The tour includes about an hour-long experience on the rooftop, and the guide stops at various points along the way to give an overview of Stockholm and its history. After the rooftop walk, we trekked along the city streets for an hour or so for a walking tour of Old Town in Stockholm.
