Pinnacle Grill Features New Dishes & Double R Ranch Beef
Guests on a Holland America Line cruise are in for a treat! The line is freshening the menu and introducing new dishes to the line’s award-winning Pinnacle Grill alternative restaurant, including using only Double R Ranch sustainable beef.
While the menu still features many guest favorites, about 40 percent of the dishes — in addition to the Double R Ranch beef — are new or enhanced.
All of the steaks on the Pinnacle Grill menu are now Double R Ranch Northwest beef, a premium beef from the Okanagan region of Washington State. The Double R Ranch brand is recognized for its high-quality cattle, commitment to animal wellbeing, environmental stewardship, preservation of land and native wildlife, and recycling. Guests can choose a variety of steak cuts including filet mignon, porterhouse and New York strip — all served with a choice of six sauces.
New dishes and enhancements to popular items have been introduced throughout each course. For a starter, guests can now sample Steak Tartare, along with the popular Lobster Bisque and Dungeness Crab Cakes, to name a few. For a special indulgence, Ossetra Malossol Caviar is now available for a $45 supplement.
Seafood lovers can enjoy the new West Coast–Style Seafood Cioppino with tomato-braised clams, mussels, shrimp, Alaskan crab and halibut, along with the returning Broiled Alaska King Salmon and Cedar Planked Halibut with Shrimp Scampi. For a $20 supplement, Merus King Crab Legs served steamed or broiled are now available.
Four new dishes have been introduced to the “Land” portion of the menu. Vegetarians will appreciate the Roasted Pumpkin Risotto with mascarpone cheese and Swiss chard, as well as the Baked-stuffed Eggplant served with a ragoût of zucchini, onion, eggplant and tomato on creamy polenta. Also new to the menu are the Double-Cut Kurobuta Pork Chops marinated in rosemary, garlic and pepper vinegar, and the Roasted Jidori Chicken with Porcini Mushrooms with cider vinegar jus, forbidden rice cake with quinoa and apricot, mâche salad and toasted pistachio nuts.
Guests who like sides with their entrees can now select wilted spinach and Brussels sprouts with Parmesan and pancetta, along with other options such as shoestring fries with truffle aïoli, sautéed mushrooms, baby carrots and grilled asparagus.
When it comes to dessert, two new items were created for anyone with a sweet tooth. The Pinnacle Soufflé is now a specialty vanilla soufflé with a mixed berry compote base and finished with a molten Drambuie cream truffle. The Lemon-Brûlée Tart is a delicious selection that’s topped off with blueberry whipped cream.

Tamarind, Canaletto and the Dive-In at the Terrace Grill are other alternative dining options onboard.
In addition to the Pinnacle Grill, Holland America Line’s alternative dining options on select ships include An Evening at Le Cirque, A Taste of De Librije, the Pan-Asian Tamarind restaurant, Canaletto’s fine Italian menu and Dive-In at the Terrace Grill, which serves specialty hot dogs and hamburgers.
