Painting Landscapes at the Piano Bar

Painting Landscapes at the Piano Bar

Thanks to artist and guest Casey for sending us some of his work done aboard Veendam.

I’m Casey Hoke. I’m 16 years old and from Louisville, Kentucky. I just came back from sailing aboard the MS Veendam with my grandparents (and very well traveled HAL Mariners) from Boston to Quebec. I am a student artist with a passion for photography and painting watercolor landscapes. What better way than to spend my cruise time at the piano bar by a big window, painting the sights I saw in port? Here are some of my paintings I did aboard the MS Veendam. To those passengers and workers who stopped by to say hello and give me kind compliments while I painted, I truly appreciate it. Thank you. And thanks to Holland America for a spectacular cruise itinerary! The first painting is set in Peggy’s Cove. (Halifax, Nova Scotia). The second painting is set in Acadia (Bar Harbor, Maine).

A little bit of expressionism!!! I like your paintings and style. Continue with your passion!!! You have a good eye on depth and color. Maybe some day I might see your paintings on one of the HAL ships!!!
