Meet HAL’s Shore Operations Department at Port Everglades
Last month, Eurodam docked at Port Everglades’ Pier 26 for the last time this season. During the embarkation and disembarkation process shore-side, Holland America Line’s Ft. Lauderdale-based shore operations department, led by regional manager Sally Stirn, guided guests through the embarkation process as they arrived at the port.
The shore operations department employs about 150 shore staff seasonally and is responsible for the meet-and-greet, transportation and embarkation services as guests arrive at port. Staff members receive manifests in advance of each ship’s arrival and departure with detailed logistics of guests and their luggage moving through the system.
They also are responsible for making certain that all guests have the necessary documentation required to travel abroad.
The shore operations personnel all work extremely hard to ensure that guests enjoy smooth sailings, so the next time you’re at Port Everglades, be sure to say “hello.”
Nice job, Eric!
Thank you for featuring our Port Everglades Shore Ops personnel… It’s so nice to recognize a friendly, familiar face when boarding our favorite ships. They’re always smiling and helpful, and we go through the pier so fast, there’s no time to thank them properly.
