On August 25, 2012, in Haines, Alaska, Zaandam had the pleasure of hosting Dino Patty Djalal, Indonesia’s Ambassador to the United States, along with his family and staff. The Ambassador was greeted by a small ceremony and gift exchange in the Crow’s Nest, which was then followed by a brunch where he and his family posed for pictures with crew and officers alike. Zaandam was the first Holland America ship to be visited by the Indonesian Ambassador.
