We took this cruise the first week of February in 2009. The little girl in the photo is my dad’s patient. She lives in Tampa, FL, and travels all the way to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD, for her treatments because she has a rare form of cancer. When she found out that my parents (and my family) would be taking a cruise out of Tampa, she and her parents stood along the channel to wave goodbye to us and took these photos. It was really moving to see that this family had such affection for my dad. I was so proud!! I still am! – Julia Whelan, HAL Mariner
