Farewell Alaska: Bert’s Beauty Shots and San Francisco

As colder weather approaches, it’s time for some of the ships to start repositioning to their winter homes. Recently Zuiderdam, Westerdam and Statendam said good-bye to Alaska before heading to the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii/South Pacific, respectively. Hotel Director Bert van Mackelenbergh sent in photos of Westerdam at Vancouver, B.C., taken from his ship, Statendam. And Zuiderdam called at San Francisco, Calif., before heading west to Hawaii and the South Pacific. Thanks to Jaime de Castro-van der Loo, the ship’s human resources manager, for providing these photos.

Where would you like to go during the upcoming winter season? South America on Zaandam, perhaps, or a Caribbean cruise that calls at Holland America Line’s award-winning private island, Half Moon Cay?

I have had the privilege of personally viewing some of Bert’s spectacular photography. He is truly an “Artist” and captures such amazing beauty. Thank you Bert for sharing!

I wish that I had been able to see these beautiful sites of San Francisco on our cruise. Ms. Statendam, September 29 – October 4, 2013. So disappointed :(
