Cruise Diary: Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Ryndam docked at Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on a sunny day with clear blue skies. Captain Mark Rowden stood in the gangway wishing everyone a good morning and gave us a helping hand as we left the gangway. We heard several guests comment on how appreciative they were to the captain. One can often find the captain along with Hotel Manager Simon de Boer at guests tables in the dining room, asking them if everything is going well and if they are enjoying the cruise.

Welcome to Palma.

We took the the shuttle bus to Palma where we visited the Cathedral. It was such a beautiful sight inside. We spent the rest of our day walking through the city where we had the chance to see the Passeig Des Born.

When we returned to our ship, we saw the crew busy keeping Ryndam bright and shiny. We left Palma de Mallorca around 9 p.m., bound for Barcelona, Spain. Some guests will end their cruise in Barcelona and some will start their cruise there. We will stay on board for the next segment of this cruise. Yvon and I cannot wait to get out and explore Barcelona, one of our favorite cities.

Cornelis “Cees” Kloppenburg and his wife Yvon are reprising their role as cruise diarists, this time on board Ryndam. They will be sending in cruise diaries throughout the duration of their time on board. Enjoy!
