Captain Consen’s Farewell, Part 1
Here are some of the photos from Captain Consen’s last moments on board Statendam and debarking. We were blowing the horn in his honor and even the passing tug/cargo ships were blowing their horns too in honor of this great man and captain!

What a wonderful Captain.
We sailed with Frans on the 2008 Brisbane to Auckland Christmas & New Year cruise…just once with him & he was so great.
We bought him a pack of shortbead for a Christmas present & he loved those shortbreads so much but his cabin attentant did not…as he had to clean up all the crumbs!!
Just love his rolling of his ‘rrrr’s’ in the announcement.
Well done our friend, we hope you have a wonderful retirement.
