Amsterdam’s Ice-Blue Winter Ball
After spending three days in Antarctica, we held a special themed dinner. This one was titled “The Ice Blue Winter Ball.” We celebrated sailing to Antarctica, the ice-blue cold place, with spectacular views of giant icebergs and wildlife that included penguins, whales, sea lions and birds. The Dining Room and the Queen’s Lounge were decorated with cascades, snowflake fans, snowflake firework stringers, snowflake centerpieces on each tables and snowflake fancy confetti in the lounge.
Dinner included many excellent selections and was followed by the Ice Blue Winter Ball where guests and officers mingled and danced through the night. Cheers to another wonderful theme during our Grand World Voyage this year. Enjoy the photos!

Wonderful photos, really give us armchair cruisers a sense and feel for the occasion. I am curious to know, however, how far in advance are such events planned and all the decorations ordered etc.
