Amsterdam’s Grand Mardi Gras Afloat

Amsterdam’s Grand Mardi Gras Afloat

Here are photos from Amsterdam’s grand “Mardi Gras Afloat!” The Lido’s magradome pool became a paddle boat restaurant area with Mardi Gras decorations and Jazz music just like on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. We set up Bourbon street light’s and market stalls and colorful tables with gold, green and purple all over the place. The ceiling panel was decorated with balcony banners and the ship’s officers, crew and guests wore festive outfits and masks like the clowns, jesters and musical entertainment during the parade.

At 7 p.m., the ship’s horn sounded and all of the crew froze. No movement and no blinking and then we took part in a flash mob for one minute. Our President and CEO, Mr. Stein Kruse, along with his wife Linda, was on board the Amsterdam during this time. They were impressed with the event, the decorations and the food and drinks. Enjoy the photos.
