Amsterdam Crew Donates to UJIMA Foundation
Amsterdam crew members recently made a generous donation to the UJIMA Foundation, which included a 32-inch TV, bicycle, basket balls, and backpacks. These items were purchased with cash donated by the crew members themselves. In addition, two laptops were donated by the Digital Workshop. The foundation visited the Amsterdam last month during the call at St. Maarten. Each child received a goody bag, and after the ship tour they were treated to special lunch in the Pinnacle Grill where they feasted on cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, fries and of course some ice cream for dessert.
The UJIMA Foundation was established January 10, 2005, by a two psychologists; Dr. Judith Arndel, Psy. D and Ms. Julienne Augusty, MA.Psy. The Foundation is registered at the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce. Registration Nr: 81266. The vision of UJIMA is to unite our community through collective work and responsibility. The UJIMA Foundation aims to offer hope towards a healthy, safe and stable life for underprivileged children. The foundation is partially subsidized by the government of St. Maarten and is supported by various individuals, businesses and donations.
