Ah, the Caribbean in Winter
I took these pictures today to make my friends at home somewhat envious of the warm weather here. On our balcony thermometer, it reads 85 degrees F as we sailed past St. John on our way to Tortola!
This week New York expects to receive a blast of cold air with a low of 8 degrees F Thursday night … brrrrr!
I am trying to persuade Jeroen years down the line to buy a piece of tropical paradise in the Caribbean, a home or land. If anyone would like to share their favorite island spots, I welcome your suggestions. Solar power would work great down here, ha! Well, that is my selling point to him anyway.
Tim Lodder, 3rd Officer and tallest crew member, is back from vacation. I caught him doing maintenance on the bridge today.
What ship is in the background of the last pic?
Looks like it’s HAL too.
Pam,
It’s great to have you and your Captain back again. Pictures you take make me wish I could be on the Eurodam soon. I will just have to wait until next December. I hope to meet you both then if you’re on the ship. You’re right about the weather here on Long Island, NY. It’s supposed to get very cold for the next couple of days.
I have a question. How long did it take to get used to being on solid ground? A day, a week, a month?
Yours,
Eric Wood
