A View from Seattle’s Great Wheel

A View from Seattle’s Great Wheel

Special thanks to Sara Morrison, HAL’s coordinator of onboard sales, for sharing this post.

One of the newest attractions to Seattle’s waterfront is the “Great Wheel.” It is considered one of the biggest ferris wheels in the United States. It’s big, it’s fun and it offers stunning views of the Emerald City and the Puget Sound. I think it’s a great site to visit for our guests sailing out of Seattle. Can you imagine starting or ending an Alaska cruise vacation with a ride in the great wheel?

I recently took my niece and nephew for a ride and while waiting in line I had the pleasure of talking to several tourists who had just disembarked their Alaska cruise with Holland America Line. They had nothing but amazing things to say about their cruise and a ride on the great wheel was their version of a vacation bookend. How fun! I was even able to look over and see one of our “dam ships” docked at Pier 91.

Thank you for a great idea for fun before the “cruise” or afterwards. Already looking forward to a day in Seattle before boarding the Westerdam on September 8th. Thank You!
