They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky. They’re all together ooky … the Prinsendam Family, proving once again that when it comes to work or fun, the Prinsendam family works equally hard. The crew of the Prinsendam got a jump on Halloween and even went the extra creepy mile with crew training in advance! Yes, the cast of the Prinsendam taught their fellow crew members how to do the “Thriller” dance a la Michael Jackson (see the training picture in ‘Boogie Plaza’ in the crew area). Then on the evening of the 28th, the forward mooring deck was transformed into the creepiest party on the high seas.

The highlights were the costume contest – of course – and the Thriller dance! From creepy toilet-paper-shrouded mummies, to a very questionable “show girl,” the creativity of Holland America crew members seems to know no bounds. But the winner of the $100 prize for the best costume went to the neat, sweet, petite; “Addams Family”! The cast really outdid themselves by recreating the entire kooky and spooky TV family from the 1960s. Enjoy this selection of candid photos that, 20 years from now, most will deny having anything to do with! So get a witches shawl on, a broomstick you can crawl on. We’re gonna pay a call on the Prinsendam Family.
