A Grand Welcome for Eurodam

Although the Eurodam is not the newest ship anymore and even though she is already around for more than two years, since she sailed “out of the ordinary” itineraries during the Holidays and during the Blues Charter, the Eurodam visited ports she has not been to yet in her short existence. On our Western Caribbean Holiday Cruise, we called in ports in Guatemala and Honduras and during the Blues Charter we called at Antigua for the first time. In Roatan, Bas van Dreumel (our Chief Officer) had the honor of exchanging the coat of arms and the other two times, Captain Jeroen van Donselaar performed the ceremony himself. Our visit to Antigua was the most official one with press and two TV stations present. It was clearly the main event of the day for the island!

All plaques received will find a nice place on our “Wall of Fame” next to all other plaque we have received over the first two years of her existence. On the Eurodam this “wall” is located in the aft staircase on Deck 10.

As you can see in the pictures, the officials from Antigua were given a “royal” welcome by our ships pirates.

Stan Kuppens is Eurodam’s hotel manager.
