140 Years Young: Welcome Veendam

May 1996: HAL’s fleet grew to eight as ms Veendam IV entered service. The 55,451-ton, 1,627-passenger vessel embarked on its maiden voyage on May 15, 1996 after being christened by actress Debbie Reynolds who served as Godmother.

    I was on the Veendam when I was 13. I’m now 71!

    Oh how I love that grand old lady! I grew up on her and will always have a special place in my heart for her! Bring her back home to Tampa Bay!
