Volendam is sailing a fabulous itinerary in Asia at the moment, and Veronica, Stage Manager Aaron’s wife, is taking full advantage of being able to go ashore in these beautiful and exotic ports.
Recently, ms Westerdam acted as sparring partner in an exercise involving the Dutch Navy frigate Hr.Ms. Van Amstel off of Sint Maarten. The frigate presently is deployed in “the West,” acting in counter drugs and coast guard operations in waters around Dutch islands Sint Maarten, Saba and Sint Eustatius. Eurodam’s disk jockey dressed up as the Easter Bunny on Easter and made the kids on board very happy by delivering candy and presents.
Project Manager Hans Dörr sent us these photos of Veendam’s bathrooms and explained the refurbishing process. The whole process starts with a cabin taken out of service (left) and then there is the demolition process (right) that includes the removal and storage of all the accessories and plumbing features.
