Seattle, Wash., Jan. 13, 2011 — As part of its corporate reorganization following the announced relocation of sister brand Seabourn to Seattle, Holland America Line has hired Mark Kammerer as senior vice president, marketing and North American sales. Kammerer was formerly vice president, worldwide cruise marketing, for the line.
In his new role, Kammerer will report directly to Richard D. Meadows, CTC, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs for Holland America Line, who will become president of Seabourn when the reorganization is complete. Kammerer is expected to start working at Holland America Line headquarters at the end of January.
“Mark is a seasoned marketer and has worked in a variety of segments of the travel industry, giving him a broad and unique perspective,” said Meadows. “And his previous Holland America Line experience is invaluable in ensuring a seamless transition into this vital new role.”
Kammerer was most recently vice president of cruise sales and exclusive product at the luxury travel network Virtuoso. Prior to Virtuoso, he was general manager of distribution marketing and the cruise business for online booking engine Expedia Inc. Before joining Expedia, he worked for Holland America Line, Club Med North America and Royal Caribbean International.
Born and raised in Chicago, Mark is married to Mia and has two sons, Mark Jr. and Jake. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Duke University and his master’s of business administration from the University of Chicago.
