Phillip Kraal is one of New Zealand’s most celebrated chefs. He has worked at The Ritz of London, 5-star hotels in Switzerland, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Germany, and as personal chef to His Royal Highness, The late King Hussein I of Jordan. He has owned Le Bon Bolli Restaurants Ltd, one of New Zealand’s most successful French Restaurants, and consistent winner of National Restaurant of the Year awards, which celebrated its 12th year of operation, and The Crumpet Club, a breakfast and lunch restaurant and evening Tapas bar, which held the titles of South Island Café of the Year 2008/2009 and South Island Restaurant of the Year 2009. He has just completed a one-year contract as Executive Chef for the five-star Langham Place Hotel in Beijing, opening five restaurants, an 800-person ballroom, and 24 function rooms. He now owns Asian/Euro Fusion restaurant and bar, Bamboozle.
Phillip has written two bestselling books, and has appeared numerous times on television shows such as Ready Steady Cook and Documentary New Zealand. He has regular cooking shows on the National Radio and Newstalk ZB (national broadcasts). He is regularly involved in promotional demonstrations, cooking classes, international guest chef roles and the highly entertaining ‘theatre cooking’© shows.
Phillip travels to the USA each year and to Australia and Europe often, for personal cooking engagements and themed dinners.
