Boer is a rising star of the Dutch culinary scene. In addition to being a member of Holland America Line’s esteemed Culinary Council, he is head chef and co-owner of Michelin-rated De Librije Restaurant in Zwolle, Netherlands, which has been recognized as one of the “50 best restaurants in the world,” and only the second restaurant in the Netherlands to be awarded three stars.
His catering company, Food on Tour, sells its own products and, in 2008, he and his wife, Thérèse, opened De Librije Hotel and restaurant, Librije’s Zusje, as well as a cooking and wine school. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star within six months of opening.
Boer was named a Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau in 2005, one of the Netherland’s highest honors and holds the Relais & Chateaux grand chef designation.
