Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise
Hop aboard a high-speed catamaran and travel 135 miles into Prince William Sound to see 26 ‘’named’’ glaciers, as well as an abundance of wildlife—both on shore and below the water on this 6-hour excursion. A hot lunch and round-trip transportation from Anchorage is included. Come face to face with several types of glaciers, including the Alpine (hanging), Piedmont and Tidewater. It’s not uncommon to see glacier calvings (pieces of ice that break off into the water) during the cruise. To witness this massive movement of ice and hear its thunderous roar is truly an unforgettable experience. And the wildlife is equally astounding. Enjoy sightings of sea otters, seals, porpoises, sea lions and whales—both humpback and orca—during the cruise. You may also spot bears, mountain goats and bald eagles. At the end of the trip we’ll visit a bird rookery—home to thousands of kittiwakes.
Notes:
Dress warmly, it can be cool in front of the glaciers. Lunch is included and served on board the vessel.
