The Grand Turk Experience

Approximately 1½ hours
Moderate Activity

Board an air-conditioned coach at the cruise center and depart on a guided island drive.

Watch for the former United States Air Force facility where astronaut John Glen was debriefed after his historic space flight in 1962.

Pass a replica of John Glen’s Space Capsule, which stands at the entrance to the International Airport, and Waterloo -- home to His Excellency the Governor, the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

You will view several 18th-century churches, beautiful Bermudian-style buildings, salt salinas (remnants of the island’s former salt industry) and many wild horses and donkeys freely roaming the streets.

Enjoy a 15-minute stop at Lighthouse Park to discover an old working lighthouse and the breathtaking views from the trails overlooking the turquoise seas and live reef below.

At the Grand Quay Salt Company, known as the Salt House, learn more about the island’s salt raking history, taste some traditional treats, and browse at the gift shop before heading back to port.
