The Grand Turk Experience
Board an air-conditioned coach at the cruise center and depart on a guided island drive.
Watch for the former United States Air Force facility where astronaut John Glen was debriefed after his historic space flight in 1962.
Pass a replica of John Glen's Space Capsule, which stands at the entrance to the International Airport, and Waterloo -- home to His Excellency the Governor, the representative of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
You will view several 18th-century churches, beautiful Bermudian-style buildings, salt salinas (remnants of the island's former salt industry) and many wild horses and donkeys freely roaming the streets.
Enjoy a brief stop at Lighthouse Park to discover an old working lighthouse and the breathtaking views from the trails overlooking the turquoise seas and live reef below.
In Cockburn Town, make the most of some free time to explore this friendly little capital at your leisure, with shopping and attractions ranging from the HM Prison and the National Museum to 18th-century churches and local arts and crafts. Grand Turk food and beverage specialties are available for purchase (at your own expense).
There is also an opportunity to view indigenous donkeys (descendants from the old salt days) along with many of the island's wildlife, birds, and nature.
